“African Fashion is Rising” a true definition of Day 2 Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2017, from streets shows to street style, to fashion seminars, to presentations to amazing runway shows. Day 2 of 2017 Glitz Africa Fashion Week was nothing short of complete fashion.
Day 2 begun with a fashion seminar, on the topic “TURNING YOUR PASSION INTO A GLOBAL BRAND” with Ohimai Atafo (Bespoke Menswear tailor, fashion Designer and creative director, Nigeria), Comfort Avunze Sakoma (Business Development Strategist, Nigeria), Rachel Young (Production Expert, New York) and Dzigbordi K. Dosoo (renowned female entrepreneur, Life coach, and speaker) as speakers and Makeba Boateng (PR Expert, CEO of Fashion Forum Africa) as the Moderator.
There was also a graduate fashion show from emerging designers: Nina Lavoe, Moses Ackon, Alexandra Tomiyama, Edwin Sowah, Chloe Asaam, and Dorcas Kpogoh. A presentation from Nigeria’s womenswear brand TIFANY AMBER CULTURE “INTIMATE” spring/summer collection.
Ghanaian Womenswear brand AWOVI GH, Ghanaian Menswear brand ABRANTIE THE GENTLEMAN, Nigerian Menswear brand BOSI & CHARLES, Nigerian Menswear brand KAMSI TCHARLES, and Nigerian womenswear brand ABOUT THAT CURVY LIFE were the designers that showcased on the runway.
The event is aimed to bring together both established and upcoming designers in Ghana and across the African continent on one platform to showcase their designs to an international audience.
